Born in Caldas da Rainha – Portugal in The Fall of 1979, (November 08). I was raised in a middle-class family, in the countryside, made my primary school in the Village of São Clemente, right next to my home village, Quinta da Machada. My older brother showed me the first interesting music, like Doors, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and other bands since I was a child, so it was an excellent start for me, fortunately.

When I was about 12 years old I have found a cd in my brother’s room with a interesting cover art, from a band I have known from seeing in secondary school (Caldas da Rainha) metal heads wearing t-shirts with the same drawing in it: Sepultura – Chaos A.D. That was when it all started actually, I recorded that album in a tape and heard it to exhaustion, and started searching for other and more extreme bands, then came Death Metal (Dismember, Sinister, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse), and after, when I was fourteen years old I heard for the first time the Album “The Principle of Evil Made Flesh” from Cradle Of Filth. Soon it became my favourite album, Black Metal had settled in my brain. After I searched for more, and soon I have founded a lot of excellent bands that made me even more into the style (Emperor, Ensalved, Burzum, Immortal, Absu, Impaled Nazarene, etc…).

At that time my brother was working in a music store in a town near by, and I was gaining interest in playing a instrument, to me it was logical to learn to play drums because there was no drummer in the area who was into Black Metal, but there were guitarists, vocalists and bass players, so I guess I started playing by necessity, but soon it became a passion. I started going to that music store and started learning to play drums, when there was no drum lessons and the room was vacant, at Saturdays. I have learned all by myself to play drums, starting in the summer of 1995, then at the age of fifteen.

In 1996 my parents offered me a drum set (Still have it) – Pearl Export Select Drum Kit and a place to rehearse, for me and for my brother’s bands (he had several cover bands at that time, plus a very interesting progressive metal band called Backstage Orchestra). Axe Farm Studios was born. The name came from the actual name of the village where it stands – Quinta da Machada, which means Axe Farm in English translation. Soon my first band was founded.

At this moment, Grievance is my active band, as a solo project, where i play all instruments, do the vocals and the sound production also. Since 2019 I take part in the Project “MALDITO”, alongside with veterans Nocturnus Horrendus (Corpus Christii, Morte Incandescente) and D. Sabaoth (Flagellum Dei, Thy Black Blood). Since 2021 I also play live as a session Bass Player with the The Portuguese Black Metal band Corpus Christii. In 2023 i founded along with Lord Drahkul a new project intitled Sangue Sulfúrico, we are now working in the first release from this project.
